William “Bill” Joesph Stoops
Bill was a Colorado native and raised his family in the Denver area. Bill was an avid outdoors man who enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time with his family. He served in the United States Army and deployed overseas to Japan. Upon return, he joined the Denver Police Department where he served for 31 years. Bill was the first officer to be appointed as a training officer for the Denver Police Department. After retirement, Bill enjoyed his monthly lunches with fellow patrol officers for ongoing years. Bill is survived by his wife: Violet, four children: Bill, John, Terri, Connie, eleven grandchildren, and eleven great grandchildren with a twelth on the way.
