Robert Huckins Watford, 88, of Littleton, CO died at home July 24, 2021 with his wife by his side.

Robert was born to Clyde & Lilian Watford on May 28, 1933 in Chardon, OH. He was raised in Ingomar, PA.

Robert worked two years in Anadarko, OK at the Christian Center for Indian Youth as the Youth Director.  His experience in Anadarko was life changing and was the foundation from which he developed his teaching style.  Robert always had many stories to tell of his experience there.

Robert attended the University of Pittsburgh, where he received his BA in Education.  He then went on to earn his MA in Social Science from Bucknell University and his Doctorate in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Northern Colorado. He was a member of Phi Delta Kappa, Professional Education Honors Association, and Kappa Delta Pi, International Honor Society in Education.

Robert was a Teacher, District Administrator and Tennis Coach for North Allegheny School District from 1958-1974.  He then was a Teacher and Administrator for the Boulder Valley School District from 1976-1996.  After retiring from the Boulder Valley School District, Robert worked for the University of Colorado at Boulder as a Supervisor for student teachers from 1996-2004. Throughout his career in education, Robert consulted with multiple school districts across the country on leadership, curriculum, and instruction.

Robert is survived by his wife Donna D. Watford whom he married November 6, 1993 in Boulder, CO; sister Priscilla Herzoff (Mike) of Asheville, NC, niece Katherine Lofton-Fraser (David) of Darien, CT, nephew Jonathan Dawson (Cori) of Mundelein, IL, step-children Jennifer J Beattie (John), Christy Fletcher (Juan Pablo), 2 great grandnephews (Shane Fraser & Jonas Dawson) , 1 great grandniece (Sophia Dawson) and 5 step-grandsons (Joshua Beattie, Jackson Beattie, Johnathon Duckett, John Paul Lopez-Fletcher & Joseph Lopez-Fletcher). Preceded in death by his sister Ann Dawson of Pittsburgh, PA.

A celebration of Robert's life will be held on Friday August 13, 2021 from 4:30-6:30 pm at the First Plymouth Congregational Church, 3501 S. Colorado Blvd, Englewood, CO 80113. Please join us to share memories and enjoy some of Robert’s favorite food.
