Lynn Stockton Obituary

Lynn Ellen Stockton was born on April 09, 1954.  She passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on May 04, 2021. Here is what her heart-broken family wants you to know about their Mom and Gramma Jo, aka “Go-Go”:

Mom loved to travel and visited almost every continent.  Favorite trips that she talked about were to South Africa, New Zealand, and recently to Wichita, Kansas that she described as 'lovely.'  She was so happy that she could travel again after having been vaccinated.  A travel goal of Mom's was to go to every baseball stadium in the US, but especially to go back to Dodgers Stadium to enjoy a Dodgers v. Rockies game with her grandson.

Mom had a great sense of style and consistently surrounded herself with beauty, both in her home as reflected by her artistic taste, and outside of the home as evidenced by her well-tended and beautiful garden.

She spent her life building a career and carving a path for herself and future generations, leading in the medical community with confidence and grace.  She was respected and admired by her colleagues and peers and made a lasting impression in the community.  When she wasn’t working, she often spent her time volunteering at the Food Bank of the Rockies, where she made long-lasting friendships and relationships with the people she worked with and served.

Gramma Jo was a life-giver who loved plants and growing things; she loved helping others, baking, and making beautiful things.  Weekly tea and lunch with her granddaughters was a new tradition that they all enjoyed. One of her friends described her as a “force” who touched so many lives...she literally made friends everywhere she went.

We are all so blessed to have been raised by and loved well by her.  She instilled so many values in her daughters and grandchildren, including the importance of family.  She was a loyal friend and confidant, and a strong, hard-working professional woman. She was opinionated and passionate about the things that were important to her.  She loved to have fun and lived her life to the fullest, including participating as a fierce competitor in all family game nights, loved riding roller coasters, and attending baseball games. She had a great sense of humor and loved to tell stories.  She will be missed terribly every day.

Lynn is survived by her daughters Sara Alkayali (Billy Riedell), Aisha Alkayali (Fabian Amezaga) and Rachael Alkayali (Ned Burke).
Her grandchildren Bella, Laila, Zoe, Camila and Kai.
Her brother Keith Haagenson and his two sons Erik Haagenson (Brianne and their kids Holden and Kepler) and Ryan Haagenson (Emily). Her sister-in- law Ella Kaluzniak.
She is now resting in peace alongside her sweet husband - and soulmate Wayne Stockton.

A Celebration of Life will be held on the evening of June 15th and details will be sent soon so we can gather and share stories of our Lynn.
