Karen Frances Schramm

On Friday, January 1, 2021, Karen Frances Schramm, loving sister and aunt, unexpectedly
passed away at age 75.
Karen was born March 30, 1945 in Ridgefield Park, NJ to H. Robert and Teresa A. (Koenig)
Schramm. At the age of ten, her family moved to Miami, FL where she would go on to graduate
from Southwest Miami Senior High School. For much of her adult life, she joyfully worked on the
accounting team for Sears Roebuck and Co. In the early ‘80s, she moved to Colorado and,
eventually, retired from work at The Arapahoe House, an organization that assists in the
rehabilitation of those struggling with addiction. After her move to Colorado, she kept a close
relationship with her beloved cousins in Florida: JoAnn, Barbara, and Ann Marie.
Karen was a Miami Dolphins fan at heart; however, she quickly turned into a lover of all
professional Colorado Sports teams. She loved animals of all kinds and, in her lifetime, was a
parent to many fur babies. She was, particularly, fond of Miniature Schnauzers; of which, she
had many throughout her life. She was a woman of faith with a large and generous heart. She
had a resounding laugh that was contagious. She was known for having a kind soul with a touch
of, what her family called, “Jersey attitude”.
Karen was preceded in death by her father, H. Robert, her mother, Teresa, and her brother Bill.
She is survived by her sister-in-law, Linda, her niece, Krissy, her nephew, Robert Phillip and his
wife Courtney, her great nieces, Emily and Elyse, and their children, as well as her great
nephew, Robert Dean.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 16, 2021 at the Stork-Bullock Family
Mortuary in Lakewood at 1 o’clock. Flowers may be sent to 1895 Wadsworth Boulevard,
Lakewood, CO 80214. In remembrance of Karen’s life, the family asks that any charitable
