Joseph Antle Obituary

In the quiet of May 6th, 2023, the world lost a light. Joseph "Mike" Antle, 71, of Lakewood, Colorado,
passed away, leaving a profound sense of loss in the hearts of all who knew him. Born on January 9th,
1952, in San Antonio, Texas, to Margaret Ruth Harris and Norman Gene Antle, he learned the value of
hard work and family from an early age.
In his younger years, Mike worked as a mortician, owning JM Antle Funeral Home in Walsenburg, CO,
and serving Huerfano County as Coroner for 11 years. Later in life, he changed careers and retired as an
Electrician in Gillette Wyoming and moved to Lakewood Colorado. A devoted member of the Green
Mountain Christian Church, Mike served as an elder and found great solace in his faith. A man of many
passions, he enjoyed nothing more than the thrill of the hunt and the serenity of fishing on still waters.
Mike's talents extended beyond his hobbies, as he was known for his handiwork skills. His ability to
design, build, and fix just about anything was a testament to his ingenuity and his love for creating. In
addition, his warm personality and love for cooking and traveling made him a great companion to be
around.
Mike was a man of unwavering faith and dedication, spending countless hours tending to the needs of
his church and community. He was a loving father to his three daughters, Elaina Holland, Sabrina
Shandley, and Tonya Antle, and six step-daughters, Shawna, May, Koa, Ina, Dasia, and Kayla. And a
proud grandfather to Paige, Callen, and Makenzie, along with several step-grandchildren and great-
grandchildren. Additionally, he is survived by his four sisters, Miriam, Martha, Naomi, and Mary
Margaret, and one brother, Nathan.
A traditional graveside service for close friends and family will be held on May 17, 2023, at Snow Hill
Cemetery in Farmersville, TX. A celebration of life will be held at 3 pm on June 3, 2023, at Green
Mountain Christian Church in Lakewood, CO. Attendees are kindly requested to wear red or buffalo plaid
in honor of Mike's memory.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Outdoor Buddies located in Denver,
Colorado, in memory of Mike Antle. Mike will be remembered for his kindness, his creativity, and his
unwavering love for his family and community.
Mike would have wanted us to end on a high note. With that being said, he was a jack of all trades and
a master of none, but he was the King of our Hearts. His shining light will be missed by many, but the
love he had for all will continue to shine for all time.

Friends and family have shared their relationship to show their support.
