Josefita Arias Obituary

Josefita Elvinia (Elvie) Arias age 86 born on October 20 th , 1935 in Arroyo Seco, New Mexico to Abenicio
and Manuelita Fernandez. She passed peacefully on June 3 rd surrounded by loved ones.
She’s now reunited in Heaven with her parents Abenicio and Manuelita, her husband Albert H. Arias,
sister Dora Madrid (Ramon), brothers Benilde Fernandez, Candelario Fernandez, Son-in-law George
Chacon, daughter-in-law Rita Arias, Son-In-Law Phillip Lobato, Nephew’s Patrick Fernandez, Jimmy
Fernandez and grandson Alexander Duran.
Elvie was 15 when her mother Manuelita passed away and she went to live with her aunt in Cheyenne
Wyoming. In Cheyenne is where she met the love of her life Albert Arias. They got married in Raton NM
and moved to Denver Colorado to start their family and where she lived until the day she passed.
Throughout their marriage they traveled back and forth to Taos NM visiting family and friends spending
many special times picking pinon, enjoying food, laughter and music. Their band “Los Cinco Diamantes,
featuring Elvie Arias” singer recorded a couple of 45’s and played music throughout the Denver area,
Wyoming and Taos New Mexico. The band was inducted into the Chicano Music Hall of Fame, Denver
Colorado 2016. Elvie loved all her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She supported,
encouraged and loved all unconditionally. Her infectious smile and laugh will continue to light our
family and friend’s memories and fill our hearts for a lifetime.
She is survived by her children Albert Arias, jr., Beverly Chacon, Jerry Arias, Tim Arias (Jerry Koffler),
Joyce (Bobby) Duran, Nancy Arias.
Grandchildren: Amy Arias, Albert Arias III, David Cardenas, Regina Chacon (Dana Gonzales), Amber
(Randy) Hernandez, Sonja Chacon (Reid Garner), Tonie Arias (Adrian Ayaquica), Deana Garcia, Jeanette
(Gary) Roland, Robert Duran Jr., Levander Duran, Devan Duran (Eduardo Camerena), Samantha Lobato
(Isaac Salano), Damian Lobato (Tori Archuleta), Monique Lobato, Mariah Lobato (Manual Quinteros).
Great Grandchildren Nautica Ayaquica, Adrain Ayaquica Jr., Elisabeth Ayaquica, Angel Ayaquica, Tlaloc
Ayaquica, Adriana Garcia, Alma Ituarte, Yazmine Roland, Emma Duran, Eva Duran, Alexander Camerena,
Lilyana Lobato, Amaya Archuleta, Kane Martinez, Mariana Quinteros.
Her siblings Paul (Lily)Fernandez, Kathy Fernandez and many more Nieces and Nephews.

A private ceremony will be held for immediate family. A celebration of life for Elvie will be held at a later
date for family and friends.
