Hugo Martinez Obituary

Hugo Soto Martinez, age 75, went home to be with the Lord on October 31, 2020 in El Paso, TX. He was born in Medina, Canatlan, Durango, Mexico to Antonio Soto Contreras and Estefana Martinez Medina.

Hugo married Maria Avila in December 1972 in Durango, Mexico, and in the same year, migrated to Los Angeles, California. They began their family in 1978 with daughter Jeanet (Celi), followed by their only son, Hugo (Cesar), and lastly, another daughter, Liliana (Lili), in 1992.

The family enjoyed living in both the United States, and in Mexico, until finally settling in Denver, CO in 1996.

Throughout his life, Hugo often traveled between Denver, Colorado to his hometown Medina, Mexico. Hugo was a lifelong L.A Dodger’s baseball fan, loved music and movies, and, most of all, cherished time with his beloved grandchildren.

He was a commercial truck driver until he retired in 2010.

He will be deeply missed by his friends, family and all who knew him.

Hugo is survived by 3 children, 11 grandchildren, one brother and one sister, and daughter-in-law and son-in-law.

Services will be announced very soon.
