Helen E. Basquez

Helen E Basquez, age 91, of Lakewood, CO passed away peacefully on Monday, December 13 Helen, born in Grand Junction, CO to Grace and Juan Martinez on December 1,1930 was a loving wife, mother of 9 children, 28 grandchildren, 49 great grandchildren and 9 great-great grandchildren. 

She was raised in Trinidad, CO where she would meet her future husband, Ralph, in the late 1940s. Although they never had an official wedding, they were together while moving from Trinidad to Pueblo to Colorado Springs to Denver to Sheridan and finally Lakewood, CO until Ralph’s passing in 2011.

Helen worked in child care, early childhood education and cleaning services and continued working until she was 81 years old as she loved to help those in need, especially children. Her passions included her faith, animals, family and cooking. 

Helen was preceded in death by her father Juan Martinez, mother Grace Martinez, daughter Maxine Ann, grandchildren Raymond and Tonya and husband Ralph.

Viewing services will be held at Stork Bullock Mortuary (1895 Wadsworth Blvd, Lakewood, CO 80214) Monday, December 27, 2021, from 4p-6p. 

Funeral Services will be held at Notre Dame Catholic Parish (2190 S Sheridan Blvd, Denver, CO 80219) on December 28, 2021 @11am by Father John.
