Gerald Paul Fuller

Gerald (Gerry) P. Fuller (69) of Denver, Colo., passed away on November 17, 2022, due to complications from leukemia. Gerry was born in Brockton, Mass., on May 28, 1953, to Robert and Geraldine Fuller. He married his longtime love, Donna Sepp, on September 14, 1996, who preceded him in death in 2020.

Gerry decided early in life to pursue a career in the military and law enforcement. He joined the U.S. Army immediately after high school graduation and served as a member of the U.S. Army Military Police Corps in Germany from 1971 to 1979. Following his military service, Gerry began his civilian career and joined the Denver Police Department, where he graduated second in his academy class in 1980. 

Gerry faithfully served the Denver Police Department for 37 years, receiving several promotions including to Lead Field Training Officer, Corporal, and eventually to Sergeant, as well as numerous Life Saving Awards. Gerry loved training the next generation of police officers and was often commended for his patience and leadership. After nearly four decades, he retired from DPD in July 2017.  

After retirement, Gerry took on an unexpected role, caring for Donna throughout her battle with Alzheimer’s Disease. He was a steadfast and loving caretaker for Donna until her passing on December 11, 2020. 

Gerry is survived by his sister, Marie (Fuller) McCall, his older brother Robert (Bob), and his younger brother Dennis; stepsons Andrew and Timothy and their wives Lauren and Stacey, respectively; and his beloved grandchildren Madilynn (23), Annabelle (20), Kai (12), and Leighton (8) who affectionately called him “Boppa.” He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Gerry is preceded into death by his father, Robert, his mother, Geraldine, and his beloved wife Donna.

The family plans to honor Gerry with a memorial service at Southeast Christian Church at 9650 Jordan Rd. in Parker, Colo. on Feb. 17, 2023, at 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers, Gerry’s memory may be honored with a contribution to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society – Rocky Mountain Department or the Alzheimer’s Association of Colorado.
