Eleanor Nena Gallegos

Eleanor “Nena” Gallegos was born December 29, 1941, in Mead, Co to Jose Perez and Nellie Bonilla (Orozco). Gained her wings July 20, 2023. Nena is preceded in death by her husband: Louie Gallegos, Mother: Nellie Bonilla, Father: Jose Perez. Brothers: Phil Perez, Joe Perez, and Robert Perez. Sisters: Josephina Ramirez, Toni Armendariz, Genie Perez. Son: Terry Lee Salazar, Sr. Grandsons: Anthony Ray Sanchez, Jr., and Alex Lopez. Nena is survived by her sisters: Mary Ann Lopez (Ricardo Lopez), Mary Louise, and Lupe. Children: Anthony Sanchez, Sr., Alvaro Perez, Michelle Perez (Jose Perez). Grandchildren: Anthony Cdebaca (Jeanie), Jason Sanchez, Alvaro Perez, Jr., Kimberly Casados (Adam Casados, Sr.), Lynette Sotelo, Shawntay Lopez (Jesse Lopez), Zach Sanchez, Sr.(Megan Sanchez), Louis Lee, Jr., Paula Jo Rivera (Samantha Rivera), Joey Salazar. Also, survived by many great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren who loved her very much.

Nena loved to spend time with her children and grandchildren. They were the highlight of her life. She loved for all of them to come to her house and have breakfast and then sit around the table while her “punk” Louie played the guitar so they could sing together. She enjoyed trips with Louie to the Royal Gorge and they enjoyed the times they were able to take the grandkids with them. She was strong, independent, caring, loving, and the “Rock” of her family. She enjoyed spreading the word of God to her loved ones and praying for them. She truly was Heaven sent to all of us, and she will be missed, dearly.

John 16:22, “So with you: Now is your time of grief, but I will see you again and you will rejoice, and no one will take away your joy.”

Ecclesiastes 12:7 “Then man goes to his eternal home and mourners go about the streets. and the dust returns to the ground it came from, and the spirit returns to God who gave it.”
