Dina Bernhardt Obituary

Dina Bernhardt peacefully passed away on the evening of October 2, 2020. Dina was 65 years young. Dina was born July 6, 1955, along with her twin sister Gina in Denver Colorado at Fitzsimons Army Medical Center to Arthur and Lucille Sandoval. Her birth was difficult and presented her with certain mobility problems before she was even able to take her first steps. However, Dina was undeterred by this and went on in her life to consistently do anything and everything she set her mind to. Dina completed her high school education at Aurora Central High School in 1974. Dina would enter the working world in banking. Dina’s 20-year career path in banking finished with her as a successful supervisor in mortgage loans. While working at King Soopers as a cashier at 20 she was approached by a young man also in his 20’s working in construction having been Honorably Discharged from the NAVY. Dina and Gale Bernhardt would begin dating shortly after their meeting. They were married on January 9, 1976. They have lived in Wheatridge over their 45-year marriage. Were they raised their son Erich. Dina retired from banking in 2010. Dina was into many different things including, reading and crafts, the Broncos as well as being a fantastic cook. Dina was a devoted stepmother of Gale’s children Kevin Bernhardt and Tina Worme as well as grandmother of Kevin and Tina’s children. In 2014 Dina’s lifelong dream of becoming a grandmother of her own son Erich, was fulfilled with the birth of her grandson Owen. Dina was a devoted daughter, sister, wife, mother, and grandmother. Dina loved hosting family parties and always jumped at a chance to have her house filled with her friends and family. Dina was predeceased by her father Arthur, and Sister Donna. She is survived by her mother Lucille, sister Gina (Clayton), brothers, Dwane (Liz), Edmund, and Anthony, as well as the love of her life Gale, their son Erich (Sarah), stepson Kevin (Marybelle), and stepdaughter Tina (Matt). Dina is also survived by her grandchildren, Owen, Kourtney, Alexandria, Abigale, Ciara, and Cheyenne.
