David "Gus" Wedding Obituary

David A. "Gus" Wedding

David was born September 13, 1944 in Limon, Colorado and died February 24, 2019 at his home in Denver, Colorado. David lived in Kit Carson, Colorado until moving to Denver in 1950 with his mother and step-father. After graduating from Thomas Jefferson High School, he enlisted in the Marine Corps in 1962, and using GI Bill benefits, he attended Metropolitan State College after his enlistment.  It was at Metro that David met Penelope and they were married in 1970.  They enjoyed 42 years of marriage until Penny’s life was cut short by cancer.
David worked in Information Technology for 33 years at Public Service Company and resided with Penny in southeast Denver where they took pride in their home and neighborhood. David was proud of his Marine Corps service in which he made E-5 Sergeant rank in under four years.  He felt that the Marine Corps gave him direction, self-discipline and some life long friends.  David and Penny looked forward to donating toys to ‘USMC Toys for Tots’ and supporting deployed units when possible.
His hobbies were working on cars, music, family history and home projects.  He subscribed to the theory that every project was an opportunity to purchase a new tool.

David is survived by:
Son, Douglas Wedding (Patricia)
