David Hobart Obituary

David went home to be with the Lord on August 6th, 2020 surrounded by his family at his home in Denver, Colorado.  A Denver native, David was born on December 31st, 1946.  David was the second of 4 children: Margie, Marsha, and Keith.  He attended Lincoln High School and enlisted in the Army at age 17. David faithfully served his country in the United States Army as a talented tank mechanic stationed in Germany. Upon his Honorable Discharge, David then spent the remainder of his professional career as a Denver Law Enforcement Officer for 36 years.

During his retirement from public service, David spent his time as a skilled mechanic and tradesman as a subject matter expert for just about everything.  He was known for always being available for lending assistance to his friends, family and those with any project or problem.  David was a man of his word and meant what he said, often not afraid to tell you if you were doing it wrong!   With all of his accolades and achievements, David remained a humble man who celebrated quietly, but reveled in the accomplishments of others showcasing this man of genuine character.

David is survived by his wife, Monarae; his daughters Stephanie and husband Eric, Tiffany, Janel and husband Mark; stepdaughters Marlarae and partner Nick, Hannah and husband Michael: stepson Shawn; grandchildren Nader, Emad, Breck, Adrick, Gage, Jake, Molly, Luke, Raelee, Stevielynn; great-grandchildren Eva and Leo. He was preceded in death by his grandson, Matthew.  He will be greatly missed by all of his family and friends.  And were he here to speak to all of us, his final word that he would say is "Bye!"
